Buying a Demo Car in 2012 is Smart
When looking to buy a new vehicle, a good option is finding and settling for a demo car. Demo cars are new cars that have been used by the car dealerships for test drives, the staff at the dealership and so on. Demo models are brand new cars, excepting that they have clocked up a couple of kilometers, therefore making the transaction an attractive one, as the prices are usually a lot cheaper than a brand new vehicle.
Of special note is that these demo cars could have been used by sales staff, clocking up hundreds of kilometers on the car. The demo car, then, would not be considered a demo model, but a second-hand vehicle. Or is this the case? Bear in mind though, if a car has not been registered, regardless of how many kilometers have been added up, the car is considered to be new. The minute the car has been registered, the value would then be lower, and the car would be considered to be second-hand.
When buying demo cars, there are no hard and fast rules when it comes to price, although by rule of thumb most demo vehicles are sold between the price of a new car and a used vehicle.
The car market is tough in today’s economic climate, and dealers battle to sell cars in the present economic climate, therefore the chances are that you should get a flawless model at a brilliant bargain. Start out by offering a price, and negotiate from there. Remember that the car’s history is important so it is imperative to ask for the maintenance records.
Look at second-hand cars from recent model years too for plan B. Late-model used vehicles could prove to be an excellent second option.
Look around at auctions for second-hand cars is a good idea and buying demo models makes monetary sense during both good and bad times. Do your homework well and find the car of your dreams at an excellent price.
